Easy Tips For Biscuit Making

After you mix the Popeyes biscuit dough, you will need to roll it out to about 1/2 inch thick before you cut it into biscuits. The biscuits will rise as they bake so this is the perfect thickness for amazing biscuits.

Once you roll out the biscuit dough, you will cut the dough into biscuit shapes using a biscuit cutter or glass. If you use a glass, it is helpful to dip the glass in a bit of flour or coat the rin in some flour so that the glass does not stick to the dough.

When you have cut biscuits from all of the dough, there will be some dough left. Don’t let it go to waste. Gather the remaining dough and roll it out to 1/2 inch again and cut biscuits from the remaining dough. Once there is no longer enough dough to cust biscuits from, pat the remaining dough into a rough biscuit shape and bake with the biscuits.

Unlike a lot of other biscuit recipes, this Popeyes biscuit recipe calls for melting butter in the bottom of the 9×13 inch baking pan. Then, once the biscuits are cut, you will place them in the pan and coat well with the butter so that the outside almost fries in the butter while the biscuits are baking. This gives them the nice crunchy texture just like the ones at Popeye’s Fried Chicken restaurants.

This recipe calls for 1 stick of butter, but if you want an even more buttery flavor, you can pour a little melted butter over the top after the biscuits are in the baking pan just before you pop them in the oven.

This sounds like a lot of process, but it really only takes about 5 minutes. Try this easy Popeye biscuit recipe and I KNOW you won’t be disappointed!

Hi guys I can’t wait to try this recipe, however I will have to omit the bisquick the now use generically engineered ingredients in bisquick. We were so disappointed after reading the label over a year ago! I grew up using bisquick and raised a family on it! God Bless and take care everyone!

I have never tried freezing them before they are baked but you can half the recipe or quarter it. If you half it you need 6 Tblsp. of club soda and if you quarter it 3 Tblsp.

Typo alert: the last line of the instructions talks about salad, when this is a biscuit recipe.

Is there a suitable substitute for club soda? That is something I never have.

Hi Jill, I made the Angel Biscuits from Dining 2 ebook. The recipe calls for 2 cups of warm water to dissolve the yeast, but the batter was way too wet. I wonder if that was a typo? Is the correct amount of warm water actually 1/2 cup? (Anyway, the biscuits were still good, I just had to add a bunch of extra flour. I’m sure they will be even better once once I find out the proper amount of water). Thank you very much. May God bless you, Julie.

Thank you Julie for letting us know on this. We have proof read this thing a 100 times but once in awhile after a printing there can be mistakes still. Let me give you my Angel Biscuit recipe so you can try it and I will let Tawra know about the mistake. Thanks again.
      Angel Biscuits

      1 pkg. yeast
      1/4 warm water
      2 Tablespoons sugar
      3 C flour
      1 Tablespoon baking powder
      1/2 tsp. salt
      1/2 C butter or margarine
      3/4 C milk

Mix yeast and sugar in water. In bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter until course crumbs and add yeast mix to it. Cover dough and let rise for 30 mins. Grease large baking sheet. On floured surface roll out dough about 1/2-1 in thick* and cut with cup dipped in flour to make about 3 in circles. Place on baking sheet and prick lightly with fork. Let rise 45 mins. Bake 375 degrees for 15-18 mins. Makes about a dozen.
*You can adjust the thickness if you want a little. You can use buttermilk in place of regular milk too if you want.

Will post on here as soon as I can find out what the right measurements for the book recipe is and let you know on that too.

Dear Jill, thank you for your biscuit recipe. It looks good too. I will jot it down in my book! I will check back for the measurement. By the way, I have you, your children and grandchildren on my daily prayer list. Thanks again!

Oh thank you Julie you have no idea how much you guy’s prayers mean to us and how important they are. I am so grateful that God has sent us so many sweet and great prayer warriors to “have our back”. I really don’t think people realize if it wasn’t for readers and viewers like you praying for us we could not do what we do. Can’t wait to get to Heaven to meet all you guys and give you a big hug and to thank you in person for your faithfulness and help. xoxox
