2 chicken bouillon cubes
4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
1/2 onion, chopped
1/2-1 lb. ground beef, turkey or chicken, cooked

6 Tbsp. water

In a saucepan, simmer the carrots in the water, butter, and chicken bouillon cubes. Add potatoes, onion, meat and salt and pepper. Divide into fourths. There are so many cultures that have one form or another of this simple idea! It’s fun to see the variations. Thank you for reminding me! It must be time to make some! Great travel food!

I make these with ham and cheese too. Especially during school vacation being a full-time MFT student with young children. So much cheaper and healthier than hotpockets. I added some veggies to this recipes too.

My grandmother used to make pasties with left-over beef stew. I loved that! I will sometimes make these for breakfast with scrambled eggs (cooked with a little finely chopped onion) and chopped up left-over ham and a little cheese. My teenage boys love them!

Actually Darcy there is a dish I think from the UK or somewhere else and it is called Pasties which is a pocket like sandwich with potatoes, meat and veggies in them but thanks for the heads up because sometimes we do have typos.

Pasties are popular in Michigan Upper Peninsula. This is not an error. They are not pastries.
