This pineapple whip recipe makes a cool and fruity summer treat that tastes like the Dole Whips you can get at Disney. Perfect for kids and hot days!

What is Pineapple Whip?

This creamy half-frozen pineapple dessert is a cross between a smoothie and ice cream. The coconut milk and pineapple are an irresistible combination in our dairy-free pineapple whip recipe. Of course, you can use any milk you like, but coconut milk adds a special depth to the tropical flavor. And yes, this is literally a two-ingredient recipe.

If you want to emphasize how healthy this recipe is, you can call it a smoothie. Should you want to put the emphasis on how decadent it is, call it a dessert. Both are true, so it just depends on whether you are offering it to health-conscience adults or kids who run when they hear something is good for them.

What Is Pineapple Whip Made of?

This could not be an easier recipe! Here’s the list of dairy-free pineapple whip ingredients.

Coconut Milk. Any milk will work, but you’re gonna like coconut milk in this recipe. Buy high fat coconut milk for the best results.

Pineapple. Your pineapple needs to be almost frozen. Pineapple is one of my favorite fruits and adds that perfect fresh, sweet, and sour flavor to this dessert. Nothing beats a truly fresh pineapple from the market. However, if you cannot get fresh, ripe pineapple any pineapple will do. Fresh, frozen, or canned.

How to Make Pineapple Whip

All you need is two ingredients and a good blender or food processor. Combine the ingredients and blend them up in your blender or food processor, stirring as needed, until creamy. That’s it! By the way, canned pineapple will work perfectly fine and may add a touch of sweetness depending on how it was packed.

Questions People Ask

Is Pineapple Dole Whip Dairy-Free?

As long as you use coconut milk (or any other dairy-free milk), our pineapple dole whip is a dairy-free dessert you can enjoy without worry. If you don’t need to stay dairy-free, you can use any milk you want.

Can I Make Pineapple Whip with Crushed Pineapple?

Yes, you can use any fresh or canned pineapple as long as it is nearly frozen. You can even use frozen pineapple chunks right out of the bag and into the blender. To freeze crushed pineapple, make sure to open the can and place it in a larger bowl to allow for expansion during freezing.

Where Can I Get Pineapple Dole Whip Near Me?

If you don’t live near Disney, the easiest way to get pineapple Dole whip is to make it yourself, using our tried and true recipe. You won’t believe how easy it is to make this famous dessert.

Storing Frozen Pineapple Whip

Place leftover pineapple whip in an 8×8 inch pan and freeze in one layer. After it has frozen for a bit, you can cut it into squares and place it into a freezer-quality zipper bag to thaw one at a time as needed. This the perfect tool for cutting partially frozen desserts. Or, I’ve also used a large cookie spatula like this one.

Once fully frozen, this will get too hard to cut so don’t wait too long. Because it freezes so solidly, you will want to thaw the leftover servings a bit before eating. As an alternative, you could freeze your leftovers in popsicle molds.
