How To Heal Chapped Hands – Natural Recipe For Winter Dry Skin

December 19, 2018 by 6 Comments

This easy natural chapped hands balm recipe is one of the best recipes! It’s great for dry skin on hands, cheeks, and lips. It’s super simple too! We have ALWAYS had horrible chapped hands in our family, but since we’ve been using this, we haven’t had any more trouble with dry skin!

How To Heal Chapped Hands - Natural Recipe For Winter Dry Skin

Homemade Natural Chapped Hands Remedy

2 Tbsp.  olive oil
2 Tbsp. avocado oil
2 Tbsp. beeswax (you can buy this from Amazon.com or at a craft store)

Melt the ingredients and stir until beeswax is melted. Then pour into old chapstick containers or *silicone molds. Let set until firm and pop out of molds if using molds.

Chapstick containers are great for taking with you or sending with the kids because they’re easily portable and not messy. Then, when you have dry skin, you can just apply the lotion balm and put the cap back on. The lotion bars are a larger, pretty version great for using in various places at home!

*They must be silicone molds so they pop out easily. You can find these molds for cheap at thrift stores ($1 or less) or buy them at Amazon.com. If you’re shopping at the thrift store, look in the pots and pans section.

Ways to use chapped hand balm and lotion bars:

  • Let the kids carry the tubes of the natural balm in their backpacks or coat pockets and then, if they get red chapped hands at school, they can just rub some on.
  • Keep a lotion bar on in a soap dish by the sink in the kitchen and rub it on your hands before doing the dishes so your hands don’t get chapped.
  • Keep a lotion bar in a soap dish next to the bathroom sink and rub on after washing your hands.
  • Rub a lotion bar on your dogs paws to keep them from getting chapped in the winter.
  • Rub the lotion bar on your dog’s paws before a walk to protect your dogs paws from snow and ice.

I am confused by olive oil measurement. Says 2tbsp. cup olive oil. Is this 2tbsp + 1 full cup olive oil? The recipe looks great as I have allergies and dry skin. Thanks for sharing.

That was just a typo – the word cup is not suppose to be there. I fixed it.

This is my go-to hand cream. My favorite scent is the cherry blossom can I add this too in the recipe?
