When I first went had to start eating gluten free, I had a hard time trying to figure out what I could eat. I really missed eating breads, desserts and some traditional favorite holiday foods. I started adapting some of our popular recipes so I could eat them and I eventually put them together into a gluten free dairy free version of our cookbook!

This easy gluten free dinner rolls recipe is a gluten free dairy free recipe I adapted from my mom’s famous 90 minute rolls, and it’s just as delicious!

If you have been missing yeast breads like soft and fluffy dinner rolls, try this easy gluten free dinner rolls recipe! It’s so good, you can make it for the whole family and give it to family members who are used to the “regular” recipe and they won’t know the difference!

The walmart brand seems to work best.

I’m in process of making the rolls and the dough is very soupy. Do I just add more flour?

You can Teresa but with gluten free they may not turn out. You have to be exceptionally careful in measuring exactly with gluten free breads.

My dough is like soup I cannot form it into rolls. I’ve tried twice and the consistency is the same. Did I miss a special instruction or something?

I’m not sure where you went wrong. It is a soft dough but not soupy. Try adding 1/2 cup more flour. I’m not sure if it’s the type of flour you used or what but it shouldn’t be soupy.

Sonya for the gluten free recipes it is best to stick to the recipe so it would be best to use sugar. Besides that too honey is more liquid and would change the constancy of the dough.

You can use regular vinegar if you don’t have apple cider vinegar.

Do I need to brush the tops of the rolls with butter, or can I omit this step? Or could I use olive oil or butter flavored Crisco instead?

Hi Connie, You don’t need to brush the tops of the rolls with butter if you’d rather not. It adds a little flavor, but mostly it is to make the rolls look nice and shiny. And yes, you can brush on olive oil or butter flavored Crisco instead of butter if you prefer.
