Easy Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies Recipe – Great Gift in a Jar!

This easy chocolate peanut butter cookies recipe makes yummy cookies that are quick and easy! This cookie recipe makes a wonderful gift in a jar for friends and family or you can just make the cookies whenever you like for a great dessert or snack for when the kids get home from school!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies Mix Recipe

1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, packed
3/4 cup cocoa powder

In a bowl, mix the first three ingredients. Beginning with the flour mixture, layer the ingredients in the order given in a one quart wide mouth canning jar. Press each layer firmly in place before adding the next ingredient. Wipe the jar after each layer.

Attach a note to the jar saying this:

Empty jar of Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies Mix into a large mixing bowl. Thoroughly mix. Use your hands if needed.

Add:

3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup creamy or chunky peanut butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg, slightly beaten

Mix until completely blended. You will need to finish mixing with your hands. Shape into balls the size of a quarter. Place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets. Press balls down with a fork. Bake at 350 degrees for 9-11 minutes (until edges are lightly browned). Cool 5 minutes on the baking sheet. Makes 3 dozen cookies.
