May I suggest editing the recipe to read: Mix first five ingredients. Add milk a bit at a time to desired consistency. Then add chocolate chips.” Otherwise inexperienced cooks may end up with a mess.

I know this from experience. Although I was a good cook, when my mom told me to pour all of the ingredients for cheese cake in the bowl and mix like crazy, I did exactly that. It looked curdled because I haven’t creamed the sugar with the cheese before adding the eggs and sour cream. The guests ate it all gone, but I would have been happier with more explicit directions.

That is why I said to mix in order and not mix all ingredients together.

We LOVE this recipe! When we crave something sweet, we break out the mixer and mix up a batch. Favorite items to cover are Nilla wafers, graham crackers and this icing is really good on brownies. For a different twist, sometimes I leave out the butter and substitute the same amount of creamy peanut butter. Mmmmm

Adding peanut butter really sounds yummy Brenda. Thanks for the suggestion.
