Chocolate Lasagne Recipe - Posh Pudding

This Chocolate Lasagna Recipe and Posh Pudding Dessert are similar desserts. Both are light and fluffly chocolate and vanilla with light and crunchy crusts!

I have been using this posh pudding recipe for over 40 years now and it has been a staple for me. The second recipe is just another version of it. Both are equally delicious.

Posh Pudding

Crust

1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup flour
1/2 cup (1 stick) margarine or butter, melted

Mix and press into a 9×13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Cool.

Filling

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 cup powdered sugar
1 (8 oz.) container whipped topping
1 (3 oz.) package instant vanilla pudding, prepared
1 (3 oz.) package instant chocolate pudding, prepared
Chocolate shavings or chocolate chips and nuts for garnish

Whip cream cheese and add powered sugar. Fold in 1/2 container of whipped topping. Spread on crust. Next, spread with vanilla pudding and chocolate pudding and top with the rest of the whipped topping. Sprinkle with garnishes. Chill about 4 hours in the fridge or 1 hour in the freezer.

Chocolate Lasagna Recipe

Crust

1 pkg. (about 36 cookies) regular Oreos, crushed
6 Tbsp. butter, melted

Filling

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sugar
2 Tbsp. milk
1 (8 oz.) tub whipped topping
2- (3 oz.) packages instant chocolate pudding
3 1/4 cups milk
Chocolate chips

Mix crushed cookies and butter. Press into a 9×13 pan. Chill while making the filling.

Beat cream cheese until fluffy. Add sugar and 2 Tbsp. milk. Fold in  about 1/2 of tub of the whipped topping. Spread on the crust. Whisk pudding and 3 1/4 cups milk together until thickened. Spread on top of the first layer. Let set in the fridge for about 5 minutes.

Then top with the rest of the whipped topping and garnish with chocolate chips. Chill in the refrigerator for 4 hours or freezer for 1 hour before serving.

You can use real cream and whip it with a little sugar added or what I use is like Cool Whip which comes frozen in a container.

What can I use instead of nuts in the crust? My husband is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts.

Carolyn you could probably leave the nuts out with out any problem. I haven’t tried it before but maybe a cup of crushed pretzels might give it a nice texture and taste. It is the salty sweet that we are aiming for so I think that might work.

you can use crushed graham crackers.Don’t crush them completely.I sub this for nuts all the time in recipes as I’m allergic too.
