Best Ever Double Chocolate Cookies Recipe

1 (10-12 oz.) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
¼ cup butter
¾ cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
½ tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
â…” cup all purpose flour
Nuts, optional

Preheat oven to 350°. Melt 1½ cups chocolate chips (¾ of the bag) and butter together. Add remaining ingredients in the order listed, including the remaining chocolate chips in bag. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet.

Bake 12-15 minutes. Rotate halfway through baking. (Turn the pan around.).

      Not sure what I did wrong. But mine were real thin and spread like pancakes. The kids didn’t care though. They LOVED them.

        Sherri even though the recipe calls for butter I would change it and use margarine or solid shortening (like Crisco) in them next time. When cookies have problems with spreading it is usually because real butter was used. That is why so many of the really old recipes call for shortening because it works better in cookies but now with everyone thinking you should use only real butter the recipes tend to have that in them.
